In 1939 Kent farmer Frederick Hynard recorded a year in the life
of his farm on cine film. The remarkable results were edited and
broadcast by Anglia Television as part of its Bygones series. In ‘Acres
of Change’ this original footage is contrasted with the same
farming operations filmed sixty years later.
Farmers Harold and Oliver Cooper talk about the changes they have witnessed
in a video that shows the agricultural transformation (for good or bad) since
the Second World War. The programme is narrated by Eddie Anderson and presented
by George Macpherson, following technical advice and additional scripting by
Brian Bell.
