The management of the hive is carefully explained and demonstrated, including swarm control, honey extraction and feeding. Paul Metcalf has been keeping bees for over sixty years. For much of that time he was Beekeeping Advisor for Norfolk and lecturer on beekeeping at Easton College.

His DVD is paced to allow the viewer time to study in detail correct handling procedures at all stages of the hive’s summer cycle. The programme has been produced by Great Takes Television whose producer-director Bill Smith was for many years a broadcaster and producer for Anglia Television.
