Details

Based on their reliability and extensive product range, International tractors acquired a strong following among British farmers. They began production at Doncaster in 1949, and a gem in this programme is the first Farmall M off the Doncaster production line.

The DVD covers in detail some 27 machines from the golden era of International production, showing the diversity of the marque up to the mid-1970s when the worldwide range was phased in. There are examples of the larger wheeled tractors produced at Doncaster as well as the smaller ones from the satellite Bradford plant. Tracked models are covered in detail. The tractors are all authentically restored or currently working versions selected for filming by Old Tractor magazine editor Stuart Gibbard. He shows them in action with appropriate implements throughout the seasons.

Sadly, production at the Doncaster plant ended in 2007. As a finale, Stuart includes two special CXs: a Diamond edition and the last CX off the line. Stuart’s script is full of accurate information about the machines and the enthusiasts who have enabled this first DVD about the range to be made.

This is a magnificent tribute to the glory of the British International years.
