Filmed in 2007 at Belle Ayr mine, Gillette, Wyoming and Beener Coal, Barton, Maryland. Shows a wide range of exceptionally large machinery at work in these open-cast coalmines.

The detailed narration is scripted by Keith Haddock, retired mining engineer and author of many books and articles about earthmoving equipment.

  • Boom Trucks

    Saw something like this in the copper mines in AZ. They were so far down in the mines they looked like toy trucks. Then you see em pulling out and they're about 8 times the size of boom trucks and all i could say cool. can i drive?
