It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Gordon Pearce writer of 'Where's Sharawrah?' who passed away in late 2015.
Gordon was one of our treasured authors and was described by many as 'a true gentleman who pioneered long distance road transport to the Middle East and beyond'.
Truck and Driver Magazine Comments
Many have paid tribute to Gordon and offered kind words of condolence but the most personal and heart-felt tribute has come from Pip Dunn in February's issue of Truck and Driver Magazine.
He said his goodbyes to Gordon on the 25th November where he was 'able to take the coffin on its final journey to the church and crematorium in the back of his truck. Some of Gordon's old friends were there to help' too.
Pip says 'It was a very fitting send-off and just what he wanted'.
'Some former drivers on the Middle East runs who wanted to pay their final respects to a man who was admired and respected by many' had also attended Gordon's funeral.
Gordon Lives on Through his Writing
Where's Sharawrah was published a few months prior to Gordon's passing and is a captivating account of his truck adventures. The book is for vehicle enthusiasts and anyone who is passionate about trucking.
