Author of The Dales Vet Tells Old Pond About His Book Signing Event

What a day!

I’ve had quite a weekend.

Friday evening I had been invited to speak at a Rotary Club black-tie dinner. It was great fun, with an appreciative audience, and the opportunity to promote my latest book, “The Dales Vet”. My chosen subject was “Four-Legged Friends”, and everyone likes animal stories. Home well after midnight.

Saturday morning I’d been invited to judge the photographs at the Middleton in Teesdale Chrysanthemum Society’s annual show of flowers, produce, and crafts. Again, great fun, and I gave every section my diligent attention before awarding the prizes.

There followed a 10 mile dash to the offices of the Teesdale Mercury for the launch event of "The Dales Vet" and book signing. I arrived at 12.45 and didn’t stop till well after 4pm. We sold lots of books, and as I knew most of the people there, spent a few minutes chatting with each of them.

Consequently on Sunday I was so hoarse I could hardly speak.

Three events in 24 hours, but what a day!
